The second Markham Cycles More theme is: Art in Markham!
The theme runs from July 24 to August 6 and celebrates Markham’s creativity, with photo stop locations at sculptures, murals, and artistic buildings across Markham. Although the gallery is closed at the moment, there’s lots of art to be appreciated outdoors, from the seat of a bicycle! In particular, there are nearly 100 traffic box murals all across Markham – what mural do you have in your neighbourhood?
NEW this week – City staff are looking for suggestions of where to add bike parking in Markham. Did you ride your bike to the grocery store and then have nowhere to park? Let us know about it for another entry into our prize draw!

How to Participate
Sign up and set a summer cycling goal.
Then take a photo with your bike at as many of the photo stop locations above as you can from now until August 6.
Submit your photos via social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) using the hashtag #MarkhamCyclesMore and tagging @MarkhamCycles, or emailing it in (firstname.lastname@example.org).
You can also submit a suggestion for improvements to Markham’s Cycling Network or tell us about a location in need of bike parking. As the City continues to improve the trails, bike lanes and cycle tracks, City staff are looking for the public’s feedback on where infrastructure is missing and where adjustments and improvements can be made.
All submissions will be entered into a draw to win prizes. Draws will take place every two weeks, when a new theme and a new set of photo-stop locations will be announced.
Prizes for Theme 2 will include a gift card to The Boiler Room at JoyRide150. Thank you for your generous contribution to encouraging cycling in Markham.
